Free Veterans Day Oil Change in Carthage: First 60 Vets

Published by Fast Monkey on 11-1-2026

Veterans Day 2026 falls on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and Fast Monkey Auto wants to thank you for your service in a way that lasts beyond the holiday. For the second year in a row, we're offering a Veterans Day free oil change to the first 60 veterans who stop in. You served this country, and now we'd like to serve you.

Who Gets a Veterans Day Free Oil Change This Year?

If you're a veteran, you qualify by reserving one of the first 60 appointments for Nov. 11, regardless of your age, branch, or era of service. Many Veterans Day freebies, like a restaurant meal or a retail discount, are gone by the end of the afternoon. We chose an oil change because it keeps protecting your engine long after the holiday ends.

What Proof of Military Service Do You Need?

Bring any proof of service to your appointment, such as:

  • Your DD Form 214, the military discharge record
  • A Veteran ID Card or Veteran Health Identification Card from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
  • A Missouri driver's license with a veteran designation
  • A retired military ID card (DD Form 2)

If your Missouri license doesn’t show a veteran designation yet, the Missouri Department of Revenue adds one at no additional cost when you bring a DD-214 showing an honorable or general-under-honorable-conditions discharge to a license office.

How Do You Claim One of the First 60 Spots?

Spots go to the first 60 veterans who call, so phone the shop at 417-323-0441 to reserve your Veterans Day free oil change. We're open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that Wednesday, and waiting until Nov. 11 risks finding every slot taken. If you know fellow veterans who could use the service, pass the number along before the spots fill.

Why Is Veterans Day on November 11?

You know what the day means, and its history is worth remembering. Fighting in World War I stopped when an armistice took effect at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the first Armistice Day the following November, and Congress made Nov. 11 a legal holiday in 1938. In 1954, Congress replaced the word “Armistice” with “Veterans” so the day would honor Americans who served in every war.

How Often Should You Change Your Oil Before Winter?

AAA tells drivers to skip the old “Three months or 3,000 miles” rule and notes that some new vehicles need an oil change only every 5,000 miles. If your vehicle is close to its recommended interval, an early November change means it starts the coldest months on fresh oil. That timing makes a Veterans Day free oil change especially useful.

Call 417-323-0441 to book your Veterans Day free oil change, and share this post with the veterans you served alongside. After the holiday, protect your engine with routine oil changes at the interval your owner’s manual recommends. Fast Monkey Auto at 2302 Fairlawn Ave. in Carthage, Missouri, offers secure after-hours drop-off and text updates, so service fits easily into your week. Thank you for your service, and remember: We've got your back.
